DESIGN LAB EXPO 2025
Student project · Visual identity · 2025
A visual identity developed as a student project for the Union of Designers of Russia and the DESIGN LAB EXPO 2025 exhibition concept. The aim was to connect the professional community’s visual identity with the event’s communications, from the brand mark to print and outdoor applications.
Geometry as the language of the system
The identity centers on a modular mark built from a circle, square, triangle, and a fluid shape that echoes the letter D. Together, the geometric forms create a compact symbol; repeated, they become a brand pattern.
The mark works on its own, alongside the organization’s name, and as part of background graphics. Light, dark, and accent versions were created for different settings.
Color and rhythm
Bright yellow-green #DAFF37 anchors the palette. Deep dark green #2A3300 supports it, while black and white provide a contrasting base for text and wayfinding.
Pink, violet, and mint are used sparingly for accents and role coding at the event. The geometric pattern gives the compositions rhythm and ties different formats into one system.
Applications
The identity extends to business cards, an invitation and envelope, a badge system, and outdoor advertising. Each application retains the modular logic, large typography, contrasting blocks, and repeating pattern.
Badges use color to distinguish roles, making attendees, studio representatives, and other groups easy to identify throughout the exhibition. The outdoor ad brings together the event name, date, venue, and QR code in a layout that remains legible from a distance.
